Electronic components are very small within production equipment, and due to the need for precision and low unit costs, manufacturing costs are determined by equipment costs, material costs, and labor costs. If processing capacity slows down, equipment costs will increase. We would like to introduce a case study of consulting for process improvement at a major electronic component manufacturer, where we aimed to improve processing capacity without compromising quality. [Challenge] When planning manufacturing costs, processing capacity was reduced to maintain quality, and the challenge was to raise processing capacity to the planned value. [Improvement Proposal] By increasing the overlap of actuator operations, we shortened product transfer time and raised processing capacity to the planned value.
