OSARO is a machine learning company based in San Francisco that develops AI for industrial automation, employing talented individuals from UC Berkeley, Stanford, and MIT. It has received high praise for its ability to recognize transparent and reflective objects (such as EC packages) and amorphous items (like fried chicken), which were challenging for conventional 3D cameras. Additionally, it has implemented a system that automatically generates robot movements. Since 2018, OSARO has had a base in Marunouchi, Tokyo, to support its Japanese customers. Recently, its picking system has been operational at the ICT LABO 2.0 of Mitsui Fudosan Logistics Park in Chiba, which opened last month.

OSARO provides software for industrial-scale robots that combines perception systems and control systems, and it is utilized in various fields such as automated warehouses (ASRS), automated assembly, food manufacturing, and e-commerce. Since its establishment in 2015, OSARO has made it one of its missions to develop AI that is hardware-independent, striving to realize robot AI capable of performing diverse tasks in any environment. OSARO products are adaptable to a wide variety of robots, sensors, and existing workflows, enabling the creation of scalable and fault-tolerant robotic systems. To make our picking system the most flexible and intelligent in the market, we leverage our own cloud data system and GPU infrastructure, and in 2018, we launched OSARO Pick in Japan as our first solution.
