We can polish the inner surfaces of complex cooling circuit holes processed with 3D modeling. By performing polishing, surface roughness is improved, leading to increased flow rates. Additionally, rust and scale removal is also possible (after maintenance). Our company’s characteristic is that we can polish without chemicals and with minimal distortion of the shape.

The deep hole machining of Casttec using the latest gun drill technology can accommodate depths of up to 280mm for φ1.5, 440mm for φ2, and 750mm for φ6 (for round-shaped materials). The above refers to hole machining from one direction, not from both sides, so there will be no connecting steps in between. Additionally, for die-casting core pins, smoothing the tip of the hole to a smooth SR shape helps suppress the occurrence of cracks during use. We have processing achievements not only with SKD61, a hot work tool steel mainly used in die casting, but also with various types of steel for plastic molds, stainless steel, copper, and brass.

Since February 2019, we have been manufacturing inserts for die casting using our in-house metal 3D printer. We create cooling structures that cannot be produced with conventional machining, solving issues such as seizing and improving product quality for our customers. In 2022, we introduced a large printer with four lasers. For certain products, this allows for significant cost reductions and shorter lead times compared to traditional methods.
