The "Balanced Photodetector for THz Spectroscopy" is a one-package balanced photodetector that incorporates optical elements suitable for electro-optical detection in THz spectroscopy. It includes a λ/4 wave plate with a rotating polarizer holder to add optical phase bias to the probe light that has passed through a nonlinear optical crystal, and a Wollaston prism that separates the light into two orthogonal polarization components.
