Today, we are interviewing Masaki Tanaka, the director of Asamidori-kai Rainbow Works, a social welfare corporation. Rainbow Works operates a daytime work facility for individuals with disabilities and five group homes. Director Tanaka also serves as the chairperson of the Disaster Prevention Committee of the Aichi Prefecture Association for Intellectual Disabilities. Particularly, attention is being drawn to the combination of "spot air conditioners" and "generators" as measures against heatstroke in summer and cold in winter. "Spot air conditioners" can deliver heating and cooling precisely where needed, allowing for the efficient creation of a comfortable space even in large gymnasiums. Additionally, their installation is relatively easy, and they can be quickly operated during disasters, which is a significant advantage. Furthermore, by using "generators" in conjunction, stable power supply can be ensured even during power outages, contributing to the improvement of the evacuation center's environment and providing peace of mind.
