At Toray Engineering Co., Ltd., we have been promoting DX (Digital Transformation) across the company since October 2018 with the aim of consistent business reform! However, even after unifying our 3D CAD software, challenges remained, such as "the inability to easily search for data of similar shapes created in the past." This led to the perception that "it's faster to create new designs," resulting in a decline in QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery). In the Fiber Machinery Division, the drawings that have been issued are managed using our in-house developed drawing management system. It is difficult to achieve standardization of parts across different models from the large number of drawings available, leading designers to feel that "it is faster to create new drawings than to search for similar ones," which has a significant impact on lead times and costs.
