The environment surrounding machine safety is changing significantly due to advancements in automation, the utilization of IoT and AI technologies, and responses to cybersecurity, necessitating more advanced and comprehensive safety measures based on these trends. Additionally, the Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 was published in the EU Official Journal on June 29, 2023, and came into effect in EU member states on July 19, 2023. To meet the new safety requirements for equipment and machinery, the Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 will be applied starting January 20, 2027, following a transition period. In this seminar, we will invite Masao Mukadono, Advisor, Emeritus Professor, and Honorary President of the Alumni Association at Meiji University, to give a keynote speech on the fundamental concepts and trends of machine safety, as well as the trends in occupational health and safety, which is the purpose of machine safety. Bureau Veritas will introduce the changes from the Machinery Directive to the Machinery Regulation and the trends leading up to 2027.
