At the Hatsuratsu no Sato light-cost elderly home in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture, following the experience of a large-scale power outage caused by Typhoon No. 15 in 2019, efforts were made to aim for a nursing facility that could avoid the risks of power outages by considering the introduction of emergency power generation equipment. A certain automobile manufacturer had critical load equipment that could not be powered down even during long-term factory shutdowns. During the shutdown, it was necessary to supply the required power using an emergency generator, and as part of the preparations, changes to the power wiring routes were made. Additionally, a certain number of personnel were required to manage these arrangements during the shutdown, and improvement measures were being considered. In response, we proposed a product that adds an automatic switching function to our electromagnetic contactor. If either the commercial power or the generator goes off, it automatically switches to the other source. By starting the emergency generator and turning off the commercial power breaker, we were able to significantly reduce the human burden by automatically switching to the emergency power supply. It has a compact design with a height of 1U (44mm), making it convenient for use with UPS systems. It allows for switching when preparing temporary power during maintenance. Drilling holes in the engine is difficult. You can simply stick it (requires wiring) to areas you want to heat, such as the oil pan, engine block, and fuel tank.
