Materials: Fujiroi Ceramics offers zirconia-based ceramics with excellent toughness, alumina ceramics, and silicon nitride ceramics with outstanding heat resistance, impact resistance, and lubricity. The KF2 alloy, created with the aim of developing an alloy that combines the high toughness of high-speed steel and the wear resistance of cemented carbide, has been re-launched after 20 years by utilizing powder metallurgy technology and changing the raw materials from co-reduced powder to metal powder, carbide, and nitride powder. We have developed the copper-tungsten alloy CE-08, which boasts remarkable high quality (20% increase in processing speed! 50% reduction in wear rate!) based on the powder metallurgy and electrical discharge machining technologies accumulated as a manufacturer of cemented carbide for many years. This product has received the Technical Achievement Award from the Cemented Carbide Tool Association in 2008 and has been certified as an environmentally friendly product (Environmental Label 2009-008). The drive motor, which is essential for the power of automobiles, uses a motor core made by laminating electrical steel sheets. The electrical steel sheets are being hardened by increasing the amount of Si added to enhance the efficiency of the motor.
