Nagase & Co., Ltd. was founded in 1832 (the 3rd year of the Tenpo era) in Kyoto as a wholesale dealer of dyes. In 1900, it began importing synthetic dyes from Basel Chemical Company in Switzerland. Since then, the company has accumulated know-how as a technical information trading company. We have acquired the ability to research and develop new technologies and products while exploring new markets around the world together with our customers, as well as the ability to manufacture and process. At our current research and development base, the Nagase R&D Center, we focus on developing products such as pharmaceutical raw materials with fewer side effects and natural extracts that enhance physiological activity in the human body, while researching fundamental technologies such as organic synthesis and biotechnology. By combining the research and development capabilities, manufacturing and processing capabilities, trading functions, and marketing functions of our group companies, which number around 100 both domestically and internationally, along with our various bases, we aim to meet customer needs at a high level, which is a characteristic of our group. Moving forward, the Nagase Group will continue to seize business opportunities with customers around the world and provide business solutions.
