Since our establishment in 1982, we have been dedicated to providing "technical and management information to the industrial society," thanks to the support of innovative researchers, engineers, and consultants who resonate with this mission. We have been actively holding management and technical seminars, as well as publishing and selling technical materials. In recent years, we have focused on "energy-related technologies" and "environmental technologies" as our main themes, engaging in seminar hosting and the publication and sale of technical materials. Moving forward, we are committed to addressing global warming by focusing on related information centered around "energy" and "environment," and we aim to provide truly useful information for society and future generations. 【Business Activities】 ■ Planning and operation of technical training seminars for companies ■ Publication and sale of technical materials *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

In plant engineering companies, many engineers are involved in cost-related tasks such as estimation, evaluation, and cost reduction. In practice, there is a constant demand for quick responses and cost reduction through the computerization or simplification of estimation tasks. The equipment for plant fabrication targeted in this document consists of specially designed items that are created for each instance. Understanding the composition of these costs can be challenging for those not in the manufacturing position, but the monetary weight is significant, and there is a need to enhance cost evaluation capabilities. This document is created primarily based on examples of a detailed estimation method, known as the bottom-up estimation, and the construction of an estimation system for fabricated equipment to assist in such cases. The examples of the estimation system construction in this document include three types related to wastewater treatment plants: "rapid filtration machine," "circular central suspended sludge scraper," and "dewatered cake storage hopper," but the concepts should also be applicable to other types. I hope this serves as an example for the development of estimation systems.

This text describes the causes of schedule delays in executing overseas projects, the legal analysis of such delays, and the basic knowledge and applications for handling claims related to them. It references the latest recommended guidelines and research findings from the American Association of Cost Engineers (AACE) and the Society of Construction Law (SCL) in the UK, including presentations at annual conferences, while incorporating the author's experiences and insights. It systematically explains the knowledge in this field and how to apply it to address claims related to schedule delays and cost overruns in overseas projects. The text also discusses specific examples of strategies for successful contractual negotiations and how to respond to risks and challenges encountered.

The author has examined the "man-hours per piping welding joint" for domestic construction, presenting a guideline that is easy to understand and rational even for beginners. While recent construction methods have seen changes, such as the introduction of automatic welding machines, please be aware that the man-hour considerations in this book are based on fundamental construction methods. *Note: The various data in the figures and tables of this book are mostly provided as reference materials for explanation. In practice, please be sure to refer to the latest specialized books and materials.

It is often considered very difficult for users of equipment to conduct rough cost estimates themselves, as they typically have limited cost data at hand. However, in today's highly competitive globalized era, it is expected that related engineers will improve their cost estimation skills. This document aims to assist in enhancing the capabilities of engineers in this era by providing fundamental knowledge about rough cost estimation for chemical plants, basic estimation methods, and practical estimation examples. It is hoped that this will serve as a starting point for readers to improve their estimation skills and cost engineering abilities.

Towers, vessels, heat exchangers, and reactors are referred to as "fabrication equipment," which accounts for about 20% of the construction costs of petrochemical plants that primarily handle fluids, making it an important item for estimation and procurement personnel. This document provides a detailed explanation of the estimation of towers, vessels, and heat exchangers. The main explanatory content includes the following items: - Detailed explanation of the cost composition items and their contents for towers, vessels, and heat exchangers. - Explanation of the manufacturing procedures for towers, vessels, and heat exchangers, using charts and illustrations as knowledge related to processing costs. - Detailed explanation of the "bottom-up" estimation method for towers, vessels, and heat exchangers. - Explanation of various rough estimation methods for towers, vessels, and heat exchangers. - Explanation of key points for cost reduction in towers, vessels, and heat exchangers. *Request* - The design, manufacturing, and inspection technologies related to towers, vessels, and heat exchangers are advancing rapidly, and the actual factory equipment and manufacturing procedures of tower, vessel, and heat exchanger manufacturers, as well as the procurement and outsourcing of materials and parts, vary widely. It is recommended that readers study the latest information individually using this document as a hint. - The various data in the charts and tables of this document have been prepared with some consideration, but most are presented as reference examples for explanation. In practice, please ensure to refer to the latest specialized books and materials.

The title of this book is "The Reality of Cost Estimation," which is straightforward, but the content explains how the author has approached the "cost estimation of bidding projects based on construction contracts for chemical plants and similar facilities" over many years, incorporating related matters such as design, procurement, and construction from the contractor's perspective. In actual cost estimation, the contractor selects estimation methods tailored to the situation for each cost component, taking into account the client's "request for quotation/specifications" and the contractor's "experience." This book provides explanations based on the author's practical experience in typical cases.
