The magazine "Plant Engineer," which was first published in 1969, has restarted as the website "Plant Engineer Digital (PED)" on April 1, 2025. We will strive to enhance content that benefits the industrial sector while providing information that leverages the convenience unique to a website!

Since 1992, the Japan Plant Maintenance Association has been conducting the "Maintenance Status Survey" as part of its research activities to continuously understand the actual state of maintenance in manufacturing sites. This survey aims to investigate and analyze the realities of "maintenance systems," "maintenance tasks," and "issues in equipment maintenance" in the manufacturing industry, serving as a reference for exploring the ideal state of "equipment management and maintenance" in the future of the manufacturing sector.

This survey primarily targets equipment users in the process industry, aiming to understand the "payment rates to outsourced skilled workers" for maintenance services and construction, categorized by region, profession, and over the years. Since 1989, it has been conducted annually by our association (four times a year until 1998). We provide average, maximum, and minimum values of the payment rates to outsourced skilled workers for maintenance work (the actual amounts paid by equipment users in the process industry) in a yearly survey report, categorized by routine maintenance, SDM (shutdown maintenance), and spot work.
