In recent years, tablet devices and smartphones have been equipped with wireless LAN functionality, leading to an increase in users enjoying the internet in various scenarios by utilizing wireless LAN. While wireless LAN is very convenient, it cannot operate the access point, which serves as the base station, during power outages or in locations without power, making it impossible to use wireless LAN services during emergencies or disasters. In response, our company has developed a self-sustaining wireless LAN system called "APSOL1," which does not require power supply. It stores energy generated from solar panels in a secondary battery, allowing the base station to continue operating even during power outages or in locations without power. The access point is equipped with a repeater function. While typical access points connect to the backbone via wired LAN cables, the repeater function allows for a wireless connection to the backbone as well. Since "APSOL1" is a self-sustaining wireless base station that does not require power cables or wired LAN cables, any location where "APSOL1" is installed can immediately become a wireless LAN service area.
