[+CAL25F Delivery Record] Nihon University

This is an introduction to the case of delivering "+CAL25F" to the Faculty of Bioresource Sciences at Nihon University!
In 2018, we delivered two units of +CAL25F to the Shimoda Coastal Laboratory of the Faculty of Bioresource Sciences at Nihon University.
The Shimoda Coastal Laboratory, located in Shimoda City, Shizuoka Prefecture, faces Tanoura Bay and conducts practical training and research on marine resources.
However, it is said that during a massive earthquake in the Nankai Trough, a tsunami exceeding 30 meters could reach the area in about 15 minutes. Therefore, the units were introduced as a measure for ensuring the safety of students and faculty and for crisis management.
Additionally, the installation site shown in the above photo was constructed by Nihon University in conjunction with the introduction of the shelter, demonstrating a strong awareness of disaster prevention, which left a deep impression on us.
Furthermore, we conducted simulations of maritime distress situations with students using the 8-person +CAL8F, contributing to disaster prevention research.
Not only was the introduction of the shelter significant, but being able to assist in actual research was also a very valuable experience. Thank you very much.
