FerRobotics' Active Compliant Technology automatically corrects the "difference" in contact pressure (force) that occurs during processing in polishing and grinding, which require skilled techniques, in relation to dimensional tolerances, curved shapes, and non-planar surfaces of the workpiece, at high speed. It also automatically adjusts for gravitational loads, allowing for consistent polishing/grinding with a set contact force.
This technology increases the speed at which devices and robots can move along their trajectories, thereby enhancing processing speed and improving cycle times. Additionally, in robotic polishing and grinding, the control of contact pressure is achieved through the expansion and contraction of the ACF itself, eliminating the need to move the heavy robot arm for corrections, which further assists in improving the processing speed of robotic polishing. Furthermore, it automatically corrects tool loads due to gravity, which varies with the robot's angle, ensuring a consistent contact pressure from any angle and enabling a finish without processing inconsistencies.
