Mold polishing can now be automated. Molds with free-form surfaces. An end effector that autonomously corrects contact force at high speed and also autonomously corrects the gravitational load of the tool. With high-speed automatic correction control, the robot's trajectory speed is increased, enabling stable, high-quality automatic polishing with uniform force regardless of angle!

FerRobotics' Active Compliant Technology automatically corrects the "difference" in contact pressure (force) that occurs during processing in polishing and grinding, which require skilled techniques, in response to dimensional tolerances, curved shapes, and non-planar surfaces of the workpiece, at high speed. It also automatically adjusts for gravitational loads, allowing for consistent polishing/grinding at the set contact force.
This technology can increase the speed at which devices and robots move along their trajectories, thereby enhancing processing speed and improving cycle times. Additionally, in robotic polishing and grinding, the ACF itself controls the contact pressure by adjusting its stroke, eliminating the need to move the heavy robotic arm for corrections, which further assists in improving the processing speed of robotic polishing. Furthermore, it automatically compensates for tool load changes due to gravity, which varies with the robot's angle, ensuring a consistent contact pressure from any angle and enabling a finish without processing inconsistencies.
