Portable License Plate Recognition Device Released - An inexpensive automatic license plate reading device that combines a special NTSC camera capable of 16:9 wide shooting with a compact box-type license plate recognition controller.

StoreNet Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokohama City, President: Mamoru Suzuki) has jointly developed the portable vehicle license plate recognition device "SecurityEye-Gate Light" with Brainz Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, President: Takuto Horiuchi).
Conventional vehicle license plate recognition devices using NTSC cameras have the issue of a narrow field of view. "SecurityEye-Gate Light" utilizes the SecureEye-1080p-N camera, which features a 16:9 full HD sensor for wide-angle shooting, compressing the 16:9 field of view to the NTSC standard 4:3 aspect ratio for output, and then expanding it back to wide using the "SecurityEye-Gate Light License Plate Recognition BOX" for analysis. This allows for recognition shooting with a field of view more than 1.3 times greater than the limitations of conventional NTSC cameras.
