Development of a color measurement device for medical and food applications (published in Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun)

Umeda Electric Co., Ltd. has developed a measurement device in collaboration with Associate Professor Junichi Kurata from the Faculty of Engineering at Kansai University, which numerically measures the color tones of products and other items. It can display hue, saturation, and brightness in numerical form. The technology for quantifying and measuring color is a result of Associate Professor Kurata's research. Umeda Electric has commercialized this technology as a measurement device. We are considering applications for measuring color changes in medical testing, color inspection of products such as food, and for use in robotic vision systems.
