The hexapod operates with DC servo motor drive across 6 axes, allowing sub-micron positioning. Additionally, it allows for arbitrary setting of the rotation center to accommodate various devices. The U-723 is a PILine XY stage that maintains the mechanical stability of the stage position through a self-locking drive when powered off. Power consumption and heat generation are significantly reduced. These characteristics are advantageous for applications with a small duty cycle, battery operation, or sensitivity to heat. The P-844/P-845, which features a PICMA® multi-layer stack housed in a preloaded metal case, is a high-load piezo actuator that operates with a maximum stroke of 90 µm at sub-nanometer precision, enabling a maximum pushing force of 3000 N and a pulling force of 700 N. The P-845 type includes a built-in strain gauge sensor (SGS) that directly measures and provides feedback on the piezo movement, minimizing hysteresis and drift. Unlike conventional ultrasonic thickness gauges (UT), there is no need to apply a couplant; thickness measurements can be taken simply by placing the probe on the measurement target, making it ideal for beginners and screening in large-scale sites. It can measure materials with paint, scale, thick linings, and slight surface roughness, significantly reducing the hassle of pre-treatment. Additionally, it is equipped with WiFi communication capabilities, allowing for the confirmation and management of measurement data and waveforms in conjunction with smartphones and tablets.
