This time, only ink. A collaboration of black hoods, black sweets, and ink titled "Black Exhibition" by Aoki Mono. For the first time, 20 pieces of "calligraphy" written in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake will be publicly displayed.
"Aokimono" began its journey into calligraphy from a moment of realization during the Great East Japan Earthquake in Sendai, feeling that "I don't know when or how things will change," and thinking, "I will shape what I can do based on my ideas!"
This time, we will hold a solo exhibition titled "Kuro Ten," selecting 20 works from over 80 pieces created over the past year and a half, themed around "Bi-Callygraphy," a coined term meaning a unified piece of calligraphy in both Japanese and English.
On the 15th (Saturday), as part of the exhibition celebration, we will serve black food and black sweets for free at the venue, +cafe (Tasucafe) in Suginami, Tokyo. Additionally, on the 15th (Saturday), the first 30 people who register in advance through our website and attend will receive one complimentary drink and a commemorative gift from the "Kuro Ten" exhibition.
