Iwatani Measurement Co., Ltd. has announced a new product, the "SV-2000 Decontamination Model" radiation dose monitor. This device was showcased as a reference exhibit at the "International Exhibition on Environmental Radioactive Decontamination and Waste Management" RADIEX2012 held at the Science and Technology Museum at the end of September 2012, where it received positive feedback, prompting its release. The product will be available starting December 19, 2012, with a price of 99,800 yen (including tax, 104,790 yen). Iwatani Measurement expects to sell 2,000 units of the SV-2000 Decontamination Model to government agencies, companies, and local governments over the next year.
Last November, Iwatani Measurement released the SV-1000/SV-2000 as part of the SV series, which received acclaim for its "easy-to-read display that allows users to interpret radiation levels without requiring specialized knowledge." This device also inherits that functionality. (Display based on a patent from the National Institutes for Quantum and Radiological Science and Technology)
