LED tube lamp for the elderly

Eco Trust Japan Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo) will begin accepting orders for a new lineup of LED tube lamps designed for the elderly, in addition to traditional LED tube lamps. The size is equivalent to a 40-watt fluorescent lamp. As of 2022, the proportion of elderly people aged 65 and over in Japan accounts for about 30% of the population, and this ratio is increasing year by year. As people age, the lens of the eye undergoes yellowing, causing objects to appear yellowish compared to when they were younger, making it difficult to read newspapers, magazines, and books even under the same lighting. To improve the unique "visual perception" of the elderly, we have developed LED lighting that enhances "clarity and ease of visibility" by adjusting the emission spectrum to prevent white light from appearing yellowish. This product is particularly suitable for lighting in reading areas of nursing facilities and similar environments.
