Causes of Vibration and Noise in xEV Electric Powertrains and Improvement Methods [Web Seminar]

Countries are being urged to reduce CO2 emissions in pursuit of carbon neutrality, and in the automotive sector, the adoption of electric vehicles (such as electric cars and hybrid vehicles) powered by permanent magnet synchronous motors is accelerating. While permanent magnet synchronous motors have the advantages of being compact, high-output, and highly efficient, they also face the challenge of increased vibration and noise due to the electromagnetic forces of the motor. This seminar will introduce the mechanisms behind the vibration and noise generated by motor drive systems using permanent magnet synchronous motors, and will present improvement methods categorized into motor, control, and mechanism. The goal of this seminar is to learn vibration and noise improvement techniques from a system perspective, including electrical and mechanical aspects.
