Anthropic opens its first APAC office in Tokyo, responding to increased demand from Japanese companies by offering a Japanese version of "Claude."

Tokyo, June 25, 2025 - (JCN Newswire) - Anthropic, the developer of the generative AI Claude, announced today that it will open its first office in the Asia-Pacific region in Tokyo this autumn and release a Japanese version of its advanced and reliable AI assistant "Claude." This move is backed by the rapid adoption of Claude among Japanese companies and strategic partnerships with major firms such as Panasonic and Rakuten.
While Claude has already understood Japanese language and culture, the upcoming Japanese version from Anthropic will offer fully localized support across platforms such as smartphones, web, and desktop, allowing users to interact with Claude in natural Japanese.
Kate Jensen, Chief Revenue Officer of Anthropic, who spoke at the AWS Summit Japan, revealed that preparations for the Tokyo office are in the final stages, with operations expected to commence this autumn.
