Power Electronics Technology Trends for xEVs [Tokyo Venue + Web Seminar]

As a measure against global warming, the worldwide ban on the sale of engine vehicles is being considered, and it is reported that in the near future, only electric vehicles (xEV) will be allowed for sale. On the other hand, there are reports that the expansion of BEVs is slowing down. Therefore, research and development of not only BEVs but also electric vehicles in general (xEV) is becoming a global trend. The key components of xEVs are motors, power electronics, and batteries. Among these, power electronics directly impact the control and performance of the vehicle. In other words, power electronics is a key technology for all xEVs.
In this seminar, we will explain the automotive power electronics used in xEVs, covering basic technologies, performance enhancement, miniaturization and high output, cooling, and other technologies, while also looking ahead to technological trends. Our goal is to make this seminar a guiding reference for engineers involved in research and development related to electric vehicles (xEV).
