SDGs Conveyed Through Appearance: A New Biomass ABS Combined with Straw Powder
VASU Japan will announce a biomass ABS that appeals to consumers regarding SDGs visually by converting highly versatile ABS into biomass and further combining it with straw powder.
The biomass ABS provided by our group company, VASU Networks, has been developed as an environmentally friendly new material by combining virgin ABS with shell powder (oyster shells) and has been introduced to the market. We have now developed a biomass ABS that balances "environmental friendliness" and "design" by adding straw powder.
ABS is a material widely used at the forefront where brands interact with consumers, such as in cosmetic containers and home appliances. The biomass ABS with straw powder that we propose has gentle colors and textures derived from natural materials, allowing consumers to intuitively feel that it is an "environmentally friendly material" the moment they hold it.
Conventional bioplastics often communicated their environmental consideration indirectly through certification marks and other means. However, this material makes "the appearance itself an environmental message," enabling brands to naturally convey their sustainability strategies to consumers.
