April 16th has become "Folding Blade Cutter Knife Day"!
We received certification from the Japan Anniversary Association and established April 16 as "Utility Knife Day."
A utility knife is a type of knife that creates a new cutting edge by snapping off the blade when the sharpness diminishes, and it has been loved by people around the world since its invention in 1956. This year marks the 70th anniversary of that invention, and we commemorated this day because the patent was obtained on April 16, 1963.
