DC electronic load for LED driver Model 63110A and others

A DC electronic load that can simulate LED electrical characteristics in a module + mainframe configuration.

The LED driver supplies the energy that serves as the light source for the LED and is designed as a constant current source for the LED. The characteristics of an LED driver differ from those of a typical switching power supply, but the structure is very similar. To evaluate an LED driver, it is possible to perform operational checks using actual LEDs, resistors, and electronic loads with CR/CV modes, but it can be challenging to meet the testing conditions. When evaluating an LED driver with a resistor, the relationship between voltage and current becomes linear, as shown by the blue line, which does not fully utilize the characteristics of the LED. When using a DC electronic load with CR/CV modes, it is desirable for both CR and CV modes to operate stably. However, during LED ON/OFF tests or dimming tests, the protection circuit of the LED driver may cause instability in the operation of the electronic load, posing a risk of not being able to conduct the tests successfully. Using actual LEDs as a load can lead to degradation issues over long-term use and requires significant labor to test various types of LED drivers. Chroma has prepared the 63110A/63113A/63115A, based on the 6310A series, to solve the testing issues for LED drivers.

Programmable DC Electronic Load Model 63600 Series

DC electronic load with a module + mainframe structure. Multi-channel type, high precision, high output, equipped with constant impedance mode.

The 63600 series is designed to test multi-output AC/DC power supplies, DC-DC converters, mobile phone chargers, batteries, PC adapters, and power electronics products, making it suitable for applications such as research, development, production, and acceptance testing. It features a CZ (constant impedance) mode that simulates capacitive loads and can also emulate nonlinear loads. The minimum operating voltage is (0.4V @ 80A Typical, 63640-80-80), allowing it to draw rated current even at low voltages, making it suitable for applications requiring low voltage, such as fuel cells. Additionally, it meets the testing requirements for ATX power supplies by providing extensive simulation capabilities for dynamic loading applications. The built-in EEPROM memory allows for the immediate recall of 100 sequences of stored data for testing. The 16-bit measurement circuit performs real-time voltage and current measurements, enabling voltage measurement, adjustment, and short-circuit testing to be simulated through both the front panel and software via a PC.

Programmable DC Power Supply Model 62000H Series

A compact high-power DC power supply with a height of 3U and a power density of 15kW.

The 62000H series is optimal for simulation testing of electrical equipment implemented in hybrid vehicles, solar panels, communication devices, ATE, industrial products, battery chargers, and more. It features a lineup of 13 models, achieving a 15kW capacity in a 3U size with high power density implementation. It can output high-precision feedback of current and voltage, as well as external analog signals for operating modes. It is capable of simulating complex transient load waveforms, including voltage spikes, drops, and voltage deviations. Using external analog control, it allows for editing up to 10 programs and 100 sequences with an automatic sequencing function. It also supports automatic test execution for test ON/OFF. Standard interfaces include USB/RS-232/RS-485/APG (standard), with optional interfaces for GPIB or Ethernet, enabling easy operation from external sources through these interfaces.

Programmable AC Electronic Load Model 63800 Series

AC electronic load with optimal power factor and crest factor for three-phase output product applications.

The 63800 series is suitable for testing power devices such as uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), off-grid inverters, AC power sources, switches, and breakers. Even when the voltage waveform is distorted, the 63800 series can simulate load conditions with high peak factors and varying power factors while performing real-time corrections. This capability allows for real-world simulations, yielding reliable and unbiased test results. Additionally, using DSP technology, it can simulate nonlinear rectifier loads through a unique RLC operating mode. In this mode, it detects the DUT's impedance and dynamically adjusts the control bandwidth of the load to ensure system stability. The comprehensive measurement capabilities of the 63800 series allow for monitoring the output characteristics of the DUT. Furthermore, voltage and current signals can be verified on an oscilloscope via analog output. Standard interfaces such as GPIB and RS-232 are used for remote control and measurement data transfer for system integration. Additionally, the built-in digital output can be used to control external relays for short-circuit (crowbar) testing.

LED Driver Automatic Inspection System Model 8491

Automatic inspection system specialized for LED driver and DC power supply testing.

The ATS 8491 LED Driver Automatic Testing System is a specialized system for testing LED power supplies. It can test multiple DUTs (Devices Under Test) simultaneously, significantly improving the efficiency of production line operations. Furthermore, this testing system allows for the flexible combination of various hardware components such as AC power supplies, DC power supplies, power meters, PCI interface cards, sensor units, and sensor modules. The electronic load used in this system is a dedicated electronic load that can simulate the electrical characteristics of LED drivers. Winding Component Safety Tester Model 19035 Series

Multi electrical safety tester for winding components such as motors, transformers, and heaters.

The quality inspection of winding components includes AC withstand voltage tests, DC withstand voltage tests, insulation resistance tests, and pulse tests for winding components. The 19035 can conduct safety standard tests for products such as motors, transformers, and heaters, effectively performing quality inspections. It is equipped with high voltage outputs of AC 5kV/DC 6kV, meeting the withstand voltage test standards for winding components, with a maximum output current of up to 30mA. The insulation resistance test can measure within a range of 0.1MΩ to 50GΩ, with an output voltage of up to 5kV. The DC resistance test can confirm connections before conducting safety standard withstand voltage tests, in addition to measuring winding components, and is further equipped with functions such as electrical flashover and open/short detection. The reliability of tests is enhanced by programmable output voltage and time parameters tailored to the characteristics of different test objects.

One of the most anticipated uses as a next-generation energy source is solar power generation systems. The efficiency of converting the direct current voltage/current generated from solar panels depends on the performance of the power conditioner.
