Altair expands its thermal analysis solutions for electronic devices through the acquisition of TES International and the hiring of engineers.

Troy, Michigan – February 21, 2018 – Altair (ALTR), headquartered in Michigan, USA, which develops the HyperWorks suite of computer-aided engineering (CAE) software products used across various industries, has acquired assets including technology and intellectual property (IP) from TES International. TES, founded in 1994 with the aim of developing thermal management solutions for electronics, provides cross-industry software solutions suitable for thermal design and packaging, custom programming, general heat transfer, stress and vibration analysis, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Its flagship CFD software, ElectroFlo, can analyze cooling mechanisms for electronics in high power density applications.
ElectroFlo is an efficient thermal analysis software. With powerful thermal-electrical coupled analysis and an easy-to-use GUI, it leads to solutions for complex problems. It enables simulation of entire electronic systems, not just individual components or printed circuit boards, and is particularly useful in the design of electronics that handle high currents.
