Composite Highway Award 2017 Award-winning Project Overview
ワメンテクノ
At the Composite Highway Award 2017, we won the Grand Prix in the composite material recycling category (development of high-strength lightweight automotive parts using recycled carbon fiber through 3D stereolithography) in collaboration with Carbon Fiber Recycling Industry Co., Ltd. (CFRI: Mitake, Gifu Prefecture)!!
~Technology and Product Overview~
CFRI Co., Ltd.
Developed a batch-type self-combustion carbonization device using a two-stage heating method based on tile baking technology, and developed recycling technology for carbon fibers using long fibers. Achieved production energy of 1/30 and cost of 1/3 compared to conventional carbon fibers, securing and improving new dedicated production bases and procurement routes for scraps.
Wamen Tech Co., Ltd.
Using the paper-making technology of Mino washi, we prototyped automotive speaker enclosures using a 3D stereolithography method that passes through an intermediate material in a shape close to the final product, made from recycled materials and powdered resin. We are working on further applications in industries such as automotive, home appliances, and civil engineering.
