On May 11, 2020, the use of thermography for temperature measurement was introduced in "Sankei Digital."

In Osaka Prefecture, an article was introduced stating that as a measure against the new coronavirus, temperature checks using handheld thermal cameras began for visitors to government buildings on May 11.
Using thermal cameras installed at the entrances, the body temperature of each visitor is checked individually, and if a fever of 37.5 degrees Celsius or higher is detected, restrictions on entry are enforced.
Handheld thermal cameras can be easily transported anywhere and can instantly measure high temperatures, making them ideal for temperature checks at the entrances of various facilities.
As a measure against the new coronavirus, the introduction of temperature checks using thermal cameras is also increasing in schools, hospitals, and businesses.
