Matsumaru Hiroya has been appointed as the General Manager of the new clinical trial-related service center in Shiga Prefecture.

Catalent, a leading global partner in advanced delivery technologies, development, manufacturing, and clinical trial-related services for small molecule pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, cell and gene therapies, over-the-counter medicines, and health supplements, announced today the appointment of Yuya Matsumaru as the General Manager of its new clinical trial drug packaging facility located in Minakuchi Town, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture.
Matsumaru joined Catalent from SymBio Pharmaceuticals Ltd., where he served as Senior Director of Supply Chain and Quality Assurance. Prior to SymBio, he spent four years at AstraZeneca as an Executive Officer and Head of Operations, and seven years at Johnson & Johnson, managing supply chain operations in Japan. He graduated from Keio University with a Bachelor of Sociology.
The Shiga facility will collaborate with the existing site in Kakegawa to provide flexible clinical trial-related service solutions to Japanese clients and biotech and pharmaceutical companies worldwide. "He brings extensive experience and will play a key role in Catalent's expanding network in the Asia-Pacific region, contributing to the clinical trial operations for clients in the region and around the world," the statement said.
