SABIC's Moka plant in Japan celebrates its 50th anniversary.

SABIC announced that its Moka plant, one of Japan's largest manufacturing facilities, has celebrated its 50th anniversary. The Moka plant, which has been operating in Tochigi Prefecture since 1971, possesses compound technology for manufacturing engineering plastics and high-performance plastics, providing solutions to over 200 customers across a wide range of industries, including industrial robots, automotive, electronics, food packaging, and healthcare.
The material solutions developed at the Moka plant are used in products such as:
• Monitors used in intensive care units (ICU)
• Microwave food trays with excellent heat and chemical resistance
• Lightweight and durable battery components for vehicles
• Automotive headlights that achieve high impact resistance and transparency, replacing heavy glass headlights
SABIC's high-performance lightweight resins, adopted as alternatives to parts like automotive fenders that are often made from heavy metals, contribute to energy savings in both power and fuel, particularly in battery components such as casings.
