[Series] Why does Yamato Transport conduct "watching over" for the elderly?

The "watching over" of the elderly has become a significant social issue.
While there is an increasing number of voices expressing concern for elderly parents living alone in the community, the nursing care industry, which is facing a labor shortage, is struggling to conduct visits for confirming the safety of the elderly due to a lack of personnel resources.
Additionally, there are various risks associated with elderly individuals living alone, leading to a growing number of elderly people who find it difficult to secure suitable living arrangements.
As a service to address these challenges, Yamato Transport has launched the "Watching Over Service Anshin Hello Light Plan."
This service utilizes the HelloLight, an IoT bulb that is part of the subscription service "IoT SELECTION" offered by Tokyo Century. We spoke with Tomoyuki Kawano from Yamato Transport, who led the launch, and Akira Torii, the CEO of HelloLight, the developer of HelloLight, about this service.
