Why does Yamato Transport conduct "watching over" for the elderly?
I asked the person in charge about the monitoring service utilizing the IoT light bulb "HelloLight."
The "watching over" of the elderly has become a significant social issue. While there is an increasing concern about elderly parents living alone in the community, the nursing care industry is facing a labor shortage, making it difficult to conduct visits for confirming the safety of the elderly due to a lack of personnel resources. Additionally, there are various risks associated with elderly individuals living alone, leading to a growing number of seniors who struggle to find suitable housing. To address these challenges, Yamato Transport has launched the "Watching Over Service Anshin Hello Light Plan." This service utilizes the HelloLight, an IoT bulb that is part of the subscription service "IoT SELECTION" offered by Tokyo Century. We spoke with Tomoyuki Kawano from Yamato Transport, who led the initiative, and Akira Torii, the CEO of HelloLight, the company that developed the HelloLight. *For more details, please refer to the related links.
