- Our unique high-performance composite surface treatment combines the high hardness, wear resistance, and electrical conductivity of hard chrome plating with the non-stick properties, lubricity, low friction, and release properties of fluororesin. - Tef-Lock α maintains a stable surface without decomposition of the resin component even in high-temperature environments of 300°C, demonstrating excellent durability (conventional Tef-Lock has a heat resistance temperature of around 250°C). - In friction tests at high temperatures of 300°C, Tef-Lock α shows 2.4 times the durability of conventional Tef-Lock and approximately 7 times the durability compared to typical nickel plating combined with fluororesin.

This is a composite surface treatment that combines the high hardness and wear resistance of chrome plating with the low friction and lubrication properties of PTFE. However, in high-load environments where chrome plating may wear away, it has been difficult to maintain low friction and lubrication. Further improve the hardness and corrosion resistance of hard chrome plating with micro-crack plating!

Typically, hard chrome plating is performed using a bath made of anhydrous chromic acid and sulfuric acid, referred to as a "Sargent bath," dissolved in water. Its hardness ranges from HV750 to 900, which is quite excellent, but even so, under harsh usage conditions, wear of the plating is unavoidable. Additionally, the cracks (fine fissures) present in the hard chrome plating layer can expand when heat is applied, which can be problematic depending on the application.
