A rotary air knife that seems like it should exist but doesn't The Sonic Corporation's rotary air knife (patented) has been developed for draining (blow-off) and drying parts with complex shapes. The gaps in the air knife are angled at 15° relative to the rotating axis, allowing it to eject high-speed air while changing the blowing surface at regular intervals for the areas that require draining or drying. This effectively drains and dries the uneven surfaces and sides of the workpiece, as a single air knife passes over the workpiece multiple times.
