Expanded polystyrene, commonly known for its use in packaging materials, various containers, and trays, is lightweight, easy to mold, has good water resistance and thermal insulation properties, is recyclable, and boasts excellent cost performance. However, due to its low strength, vulnerability to impact, and weak fire resistance, it has not been utilized in the construction industry. However, we have created a completely new expanded polystyrene product by applying a special coating to it. Our approach with Decoform aims to apply the combination of expanded polystyrene with other materials to interior and exterior materials of general buildings and three-dimensional sculptures. Its significant features include a high degree of design freedom through 3D CAD/CAM, as well as ease of construction and high cost performance. Decoform allows for the relatively easy creation of things that were previously difficult to achieve due to budget and production constraints. The excellence of this can be clearly seen by looking at actual construction results in various locations. However, Decoform is still a relatively new technology that is in the process of growth. Therefore, it also holds great potential as a technology.
