Ajiro (woven bamboo) It began to be widely used generally when Sen no Rikyū and others devised the rustic tea room, as it was used to create an extremely tense space. As a material for suki, ajiro became one of the most suitable materials for the wabi aesthetic of the rustic tea room. Subsequently, ajiro began to be used by prominent tea masters in shoin ceilings, tokonoma ceilings, and so on, and today it has become an indispensable element in sukiya architecture and tea rooms. *There are also products that are bonded to non-combustible materials, quasi-non-combustible materials (calcium silicate board, Dailight), and bent plywood.
