Wet screening methods for measuring moisture in mortar have already been released, including vacuum drying methods, capacitance methods, and microwave drying methods. However, Marui's unit water meter has been developed with a focus on estimating unit water content from a large sample of 15 kg of fresh concrete. Waiting for mixed fresh concrete to conduct tests, as done traditionally, lacks the speed needed for result determination and can lead to confusion. Therefore, Marui aimed for a measurement time of about 3 minutes, with performance capable of instantly displaying information within ±5 kg/m3 for unit water content. Additionally, since the unit water content can vary significantly with the amount of air in fresh concrete, a high-precision air content measurement device has also been newly developed.
