A surface treatment technology that imparts lubrication functionality to hard anodizing, improving wear resistance!
Kashima Coat is a process where an alumina film is generated and then subjected to secondary electrolysis in a solution of ammonium tetrathiomolybdate, resulting in the deposition of molybdenum disulfide within ultra-fine pores of approximately 100 angstroms in diameter. The molybdenum disulfide deposited through the Kashima Coat treatment reduces the friction coefficient and significantly decreases both fretting wear and adhesive wear. Aluminum is prone to various types of corrosion, but the corrosion resistance is greatly improved by the Kashima Coat treatment. The molybdenum disulfide deposited within the hard film maintains its lubricating properties at high temperatures. It demonstrates its effectiveness in preventing piston seizure under the harsh conditions of high-output engines. *For detailed information, please download the catalog or contact us.*

basic information
**Features** ■ Lubricity The crystals of molybdenum disulfide significantly improve the lubricity of the hard coating. ■ Corrosion Resistance By applying the Shimacoat treatment, corrosion resistance is achieved that is 4 to 5 times greater than conventional chrome plating. ■ Heat Resistance Molybdenum disulfide, which penetrates into the hard coating even at high temperatures, maintains lubricity. ■ Insulation The electrical insulation of standard hard anodizing is about 1μ10V, but with Kashima Coat, the breakdown voltage is increased by 50%! ■ High Hardness and Wear Resistance While aluminum is often perceived as soft, Kashima Coat reaches a hardness of Hv400. Data shows it has about 3 times the wear resistance of hard chrome plating in wear tests. ■ High Precision One of the excellent characteristics of Kashima Coat is that it allows for polishing and lapping processes. It can be safely used for parts that require high precision. ■ Lightweight The specific gravity of aluminum is one-third that of iron. The demand for lightweight materials in modern times is expanding the range of aluminum applications. → A structural comparison with conventional products can be viewed in the catalog. *For detailed information, please download the catalog or contact us.*

The Kashima coat treatment of "Miyaki" was developed and put into practical use as a key technology that generates an excellent film on aluminum. Even before the growing interest in global environmental conservation, we have been advancing technology development based on the concept of protecting our beautiful Earth. We not only provide a clean film to our products but also achieve pollution-free production processes. This corporate attitude has received high praise, just like the products we create. Now, "Miyaki" reaffirms its position as a specialized manufacturer of aluminum surface treatment and will actively promote "creative pursuit" in new technology development.
