basic information
**Lecture Summary** In recent years, the treatment of chronic pain has been undergoing significant changes due to the emergence of new medications. This lecture will explain the selection of drugs and the treatment process, summarizing both old and new analgesics used in the pharmacotherapy of chronic pain. **Lecture Summary** The treatment of musculoskeletal pain disorders (mostly chronic pain patients) in orthopedic practice has long relied solely on the administration of anti-inflammatory analgesics, including topical patches. In contrast, the recently introduced neuropathic pain medications and opioids are not just symptomatic treatments but are capable of aiming for curative therapy. This presentation will provide an outlook on future treatments for musculoskeletal pain disorders, taking into account not only domestic information but also international data and clinical trial experiences.
