An inch screw is a screw made in inch sizes.
Formally, they are called "ISO inch screws" and "Unified screws." Basically, the Unified screw standard is adopted by the three countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada, and it was standardized for military use. In Japan, the Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) specify that the screws commonly used are of the same standard as "ISO metric screws," while "ISO inch screws" are used in aviation and other cases where it is particularly necessary.
