basic information
Lubricants are modifiers used to provide slip during the molding process of plastics. Their main application is for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin. Since the molding temperature and decomposition temperature of PVC resin are close, the use of stabilizers and lubricants is essential. While stabilizers chemically stabilize PVC resin, lubricants reduce frictional heat between the resin and the molding machinery through their slip effect, ultimately stabilizing the resin and facilitating the molding process. This also improves the product's appearance and productivity. Recently, the development of environmentally friendly types of stabilizers, such as calcium-zinc-based stabilizers, is anticipated. However, the special fatty acid ester-based "Rikester" is gaining attention as a lubricant compatible with calcium-zinc-based stabilizers due to its excellent ability to enhance slip between the metal surfaces of molding machines and the resin. ★ For more details, please request materials or refer to the catalog ★

Applications/Examples of results
In the future, the demand for environmentally friendly formulations is expected to increase, and we anticipate that our lubricant demand will expand in applications such as sheets, pipes, and other molded products. "Rikemal" and "Rikestar" are also used as lubricants for polyolefin resins, polystyrene-based resins, polyamide resins, and engineering plastics, in addition to polyvinyl chloride resin.

In industrial fields such as plastics, rubber, cosmetics, lubricants, and paints, various additives are used to improve product functionality and processability. Since we began producing high-purity monoglycerides using molecular distillation in Japan in 1959, our company has developed and manufactured a wide range of additives, primarily focusing on polyol fatty acid esters. We not only provide products but also enhance communication with our customers, including technical support, to ensure that the functions of our additives are effectively utilized in their product development. In recent years, there has been a growing demand for safety in industrial applications, and products like these are gaining attention in plastic items such as food packaging materials and toys. Our polyol fatty acid esters are primarily safe products used in the food sector, such as food emulsifiers, and we are actively applying them to industrial fields alongside their expansion into food applications. As awareness of environmental issues increases, we will continue to respond flexibly to customer needs in the industrial sector, challenging ourselves to develop products for a new era with the keywords "safety, security, and environment."
