The occurrence of rust is caused by the condensation phenomenon, where moisture in the atmosphere is cooled and transformed into water droplets. When these droplets adhere to the metal surface, an uneven potential is generated on the metal surface, leading to electrochemical reactions that form rust. In the mold, automotive, machinery, and metal parts industries, traditional rust prevention measures during the "manufacturing," "shipping," and "storage" processes have typically involved applying grease or rust-preventive oil to the metal surface. However, these methods require complicated processes that involve significant labor and costs, such as "application" and "oil wiping," and raise several concerns, including deterioration of the working environment and impacts on workers' health. In particular, in countries with strict environmental standards, such as Japan and Western countries, the cleaning treatment of grease and rust-preventive oil has been viewed as problematic, and alternative rust prevention measures have been awaited.
