basic information
- Zinc plating can be done in six types: chromate, unichrome, black chromate, green chromate, and trivalent chromate unichrome. - Gold plating is primarily available as a thin decorative layer. - Copper plating involves applying a copper layer to the product, dyeing the surface a thin black, then polishing it to create a contrast between copper and black, followed by clear coating. - Black chrome is a plating method widely used for automotive, motorcycle, and camera parts, resulting in a beautiful deep black finish. - Hard chrome is hard, with a hardness of about Hv800 to 1000, providing excellent lubrication and corrosion resistance. - Electroless nickel plating achieves a uniform thickness even on complex shapes, allowing for plating to the desired thickness. - Platinum plating on titanium is used as an insoluble anode. Applications/Examples of results
- Zinc plating can be done in six types: chromate, unichrome, black chromate, green chromate, trivalent chromate, and unichrome. - Gold plating is primarily available as a thin decorative plating. - Copper plating involves plating the product with copper, dyeing the surface a thin black, followed by polishing to create a contrast between the copper color and black, and then applying a clear coat. - Black chrome is a plating method widely used in automotive, motorcycle, and camera parts, resulting in a beautiful deep black coating. - Hard chrome is very hard, with a hardness of about Hv800 to 1000, and provides excellent lubrication and corrosion resistance. - Electroless nickel plating is a plating method that does not use electricity, allowing for uniform plating thickness even on complex shapes. After plating, heat treatment (around 300°C) can achieve hardness equivalent to hard chrome, and a fluorescent X-ray thickness gauge is used to plate to the desired thickness. - Platinum plating on titanium is used as an insoluble anode.
