The Techno motion controller is primarily a standalone type that does not require a PC. For example, the one-board motion controller (SLM8000) can be used as an NC simply by powering on the main unit (board). This means it can be used with processing machines even without a PC. However, for instance, the data output from CAD/CAM may be expected to be large in size. ======= If we consider the command time for one instruction (linear interpolation) to be 0.1 seconds and the processing time to be 10 hours (36,000 seconds), the number of commands would be 360,000. Assuming one command is 64 bytes, the operating program would be approximately 22 MB. ======= In such cases, it is not possible to store all G-code programs in the memory of the motion controller. Therefore, DNC is used.

■DNC System By using the DNC function, it is possible to perform actual operations (such as machining) while sending the operation program (G-code or Techno language) from the PC to the Fine Motion (motion controller) side. 1. The operation program (G-code or Techno language) on the PC is sent to the buffer memory of Fine Motion via the Techno DLL. *Note: The communication method varies depending on the Fine Motion product, including Ethernet communication, USB communication, and shared memory.* 2. Fine Motion stores the operation program sent from the PC while executing the actual operation. Additionally, it communicates with the PC to ensure that the buffer memory does not become empty (if it becomes empty during operation, it will stop).
