basic information
**Course Objectives and Aims** The European REACH regulation, with the first phase registration deadline having closed on November 30, 2010, has issued requests for modifications to registration documents and additional information. The deadline for reporting SVHCs in articles is approaching on June 1. Compliance with substances subject to authorization listed in Annex XIV will also be necessary. Since October 15, 2010, the implementation of China's version of REACH, the new chemical substance environmental management measures, has involved strict scrutiny of submitted information. In Taiwan, the registration of existing chemical substances was completed at the end of last year, and substances not listed will require reporting as new substances for new chemical substances. Following the midterm elections, there is concern about how the ongoing revision of TSCA in the U.S. Congress will progress. Domestically, the obligation for the second phase of the revised Chemical Substances Control Law will begin. This presentation will provide detailed explanations of these latest developments.
