**Lecture 1: Summary of the Presentation** PC resin glazing, which is expected to contribute to automotive lightweighting, has already been in mass production in Europe for over 10 years. Based on my experience involved in its development, I will discuss the characteristics, current status, and challenges of PC resin glazing. **Lecture 2: Summary of the Presentation** I will introduce various initiatives related to the resinification of glazing that contributes to automotive lightweighting, focusing on improvements in the wear resistance of hard coatings and the addition of functions. A common method for surface hardening technology to bring the hardness of hard coatings closer to that of inorganic glass is to form hard films using plasma CVD. In contrast, the method of hardening through light modification offers advantages such as ease of adaptation to the size and shape of products and the ability to obtain hard films simply by irradiating light in atmospheric pressure. This presentation will introduce methods and evaluations of hardening through light modification. Additionally, I will present technical examples of adding value through functional enhancements to hard coatings, aimed at the practical application of resin glazing.
