basic information
【Course Overview】 In recent years, many organic dyes have been utilized as optoelectronic materials. These dyes are referred to as functional dyes, and their importance as display materials and energy conversion materials is increasingly growing. The electronic states that determine the properties of dye molecules can now be predicted and examined using commercially available computational software. However, when the actual forms used are in solid states such as powders or thin films, it becomes difficult to predict the effects of intermolecular interactions within the solid, and the development methods remain trial-and-error, with unclear directions. As a result, various issues arise in the actual application of functional dyes. In this seminar, we will learn the fundamental knowledge of dyes by dividing it into the states of "molecules" and "solids," and based on that knowledge, we will consider various issues related to the application of dye materials.
